Named for the silver colored Goldeye fish found in this lake during the 1940's it is a quiet serene lake no longer occupied by Goldeye fish but beautiful Rainbow Trout. This lake is sometimes referred to as Pine Tree Lake, it is unique because it was part of the ice-free corridor during glacial times, showing that thousands of years ago it was tundra. Located on the northeast side of the lake in 1963 the United Farmers Union of Alberta built a camp, used as a retreat and for family gatherings, business conferences and school field trips. |
