The Nordegg Heritage Centre, operational in 2004 from May 15 to September 26, is a fantastic showcase of historical and informative displays, as well as the tourist information center for the Nordegg area.  Nordegg’s Brazeau Collieries Minesite Industrial Museum became a Provincial Historic Resource in 1993 and a National Historic Site in 2002. 

One tour runs each day, at 1 pm, from mid-May until July 1.  From July 1^st until Labour Day, tours of this attraction leave the Heritage Centre at 10 am and 1 pm.  The morning tour is an Overview Tour and is shorter than the afternoon’s Technical Tour.  The Technical Tour takes visitors inside the coal processing buildings.  September tours are on weekends only, or by prior arrangement.  A Saturday evening tour is in the experimental stage.
